]]>The program was developed back in 2013 by Harley Pasternak and it involves a lot of liquid meals. It’s divided into three five-day phases and in each phase, there’s a focus on different meal formats and drinking lots of smoothies to get lots of micronutrients like fiber, protein, and healthy fats.
The first phase involves having three smoothies per day as meals, the second involves having two smoothie meals plus one single-dish meal in the form of a scramble, salad, soup, stir fry, or sandwich. The third phase involves two single meals and one smoothie and between meals, you can have two crunchy snacks full of fiber, protein, and healthy fats. These snacks can include apples, almonds, or edamame.
This lower-calorie diet focuses on fiber, protein, and healthy fats to keep you full and to your digestion and metabolism healthy. For the smoothie phase, there are three types of smoothies for meals: white, red, and green. The white one is for breakfast and has Greek yogurt, and apples or peaches, bananas, almonds, and non-fat milk. The lunch smoothie is red and berry-based with whey protein powder and an orange. The green dinner smoothie has greens like kale or spinach and can include Greek yogurt or avocado.
The second and third phases have solid meals like pumpkin soup, chicken flatbread, and breakfast burritos. The foods you can’t eat are high in fat or calories and they include takeout, fried food, processed meats, and refined grains. You also can’t have soda, alcohol, candy, or junk food.
By drinking most of your food, you’re likely to lose weight, especially at the beginning of the Body Reset Diet. You’ll be decreasing your calorie intake because you’re mostly eating fruits and vegetables. But, it’s important to note that it’s a short-term program and if you stop after completing the three phases and start eating the way you used to, you’ll gain the weight back.
