]]>Momoa isn’t only staying active because his roles call for it, but because he genuinely enjoys it. Rock climbing happens to be one of his favorite pastimes that help him stay in great shape and he also had to rely on other fitness programs while preparing for Dune.
“I found it better for myself to train for things that I love… But for Dune, there was a lot of fight choreography, so generally, I worked with my stunt team, learning to do different fights and a lot of cardio,” revealed Momoa.
The Game of Thrones star also told Men’s Health he’s not “genetically ripped”, contrary to popular belief, and that getting in shape for his most iconic roles took a lot of work. While getting in shape to play Khal Drogo, Momoa’s diet surprisingly consisted of a lot of steak and pizza, since he had to eat a lot and do heavy weight lifting to build muscle mass.
