So many of us are leading sedentary lives with jobs that keep us in front of computers for many hours every day. You could probably imagine that such a lifestyle is not great for your physical and mental health—but is there a way to reverse the effects with daily exercise?

While it would be the best to be more active throughout the day, if you can’t do that, there’s a way to make up for all the sitting. A research has recently been published in the British Journal of Medicine that informs us about the ideal amount of daily exercise for people who sit 10 hours per day.

According to the study, 30-40 minutes of mild to high-intensity exercise per day is enough to stop connecting a sedentary lifestyle with a higher risk of death.

The research was done on over 44,000 people and was conducted throughout a span of many years. The participants were monitored from 4 to 14 and a half years to see how much the parameters changed in active and less active individuals.

The results proved once again that daily activity is crucial for staying healthy and living longer, especially for people who spend a lot of time sitting.
