It goes without saying that soccer is a great way of developing your legs. Not only does running and sprinting engage several of your leg muscles but kicking and jumping use your whole lower body to propel your legs forwards.

Arms Neck and Shoulders 

What’s not quite so obvious is that soccer also works out your triceps, biceps, and shoulders. Keeping your balance and posture when on the ball, taking throw-ins, or heading the ball requires good upper body strength and strong neck muscles.

Glute and Hip Muscles 

Glute and hip muscles are also essential to gaining sufficient speed to beat your opponent to the ball or launch it up the pitch.  

Core 

And finally, soccer is an excellent way to strengthen and develop your core. Your core muscles are required to perform almost every movement in soccer. These include the rectus abdominis (six-pack), the lower back muscles, and the internal and external obliques.
