Eco-friendly activewear has experienced a true boom in recent years, and Under Armour is the latest major brand to embrace this trend. They joined forces with Unless for a “regenerative” sportswear collection, crafted with zero-plastic, plant-based materials.

Unless is an eco-friendly apparel and footwear brand, known for making products from natural materials that can be worn and safely returned to nature. They’re on the forefronts of transformative shift in the sportswear after joining forces with Under Armour to launch their debut line of regenerative activewear.

According to Under Armour’s brand president Eric Liedtke, this partnership represents an important step in making a shift from relying heavily on plastics to using eco-friendly materials that can be safely returned to the environment.

“By using only plant-based materials; this regenerative sportswear collection is designed to decompose rather than pollute – representing a revolutionary advancement in reimagining the future of product creation in our industry, with an innovative commitment that honors both athletes and the planet,” said Liedtke in a statement.

Under Armour’s partnership with Unless first saw the light of day at the Milan Design Week, where visitors got to explore it through a tactile, immersive experience. It includes hoodies, t-shirts, and shorts, ranging in price between $30 and $160, which will be available exclusively at the Under Armour Baltimore Brand House at the end of April.

It’s been a while since Victoria’s Secret surprised us with a new activewear line, but they’re finally ready for an epic comeback. Their iconic collection of fashion sports apparel VSX is finally making its grand return, and it marks the brand’s attempt to enter the activewear scene again.

VSX was first launched in 2011, and Victoria’s Secret is trying to take advantage of the robust activewear market by bringing it back years later. Kira Fisher, vice president of brand design at VS&CO, described it as more than a sports collection, adding it’s “a lifestyle at the intersection between performance and fashion.”

In addition to such activewear essentials as sports bras and leggings, priced at $50 and $70, this new line offers a wide range of ready-to-wear apparel. You’ll find everything from T-shirts and catsuits to trench coats on Victoria’s Secret’s VSX page.

Gigi Hadid is the face of the new VSX collection, and she’s thrilled to be a part of this campaign because it captures the multifaceted nature of strength and performance.

“Movement plays an important role in my life and my definition is always evolving… This collection is such a chic one-stop shop that covers it all, with pieces that can support me through a workout or tie together a chic-yet-comfortable off-duty look,” said Hadid in a statement.

We’ve seen countless brands join forces with Mattel ahead of the release of Barbie, and collaborations inspired by this movie are still coming our way. Bandier is the latest brand to hop on this trend, and their new activewear collection will inspire you to unleash your inner Barbie.

The Barbie x Bandier capsule collection puts a bubblegum pink twist on some of the brand’s signature pieces. Barbie’s recognizable ponytailed silhouette, logo, and pink stitching make it clear this collection was developed with Mattel’s seal of approval, and it’s not just another activewear line simply embracing the Barbiecore trend.

Bandier’s new line has a strong ’80s vibe, and it will help you embrace your ultimate workout Barbie. The list of products in this capsule collection includes a bubblegum pink one-piece Tempo playsuit, a white cropped tee, a fleece crewneck sweater, a black workout bra with matching leggings, and casual crewneck socks. In addition to being available on Bandier’s official website, the brand’s Barbie collection is available at Saks Fifth Avenue and FAO Schwarz.

Even before Bandier dropped this line, many activewear brands went full Barbiecore even without having branding deals with Mattel. Pink workout clothes are all the rage this summer, and we’ve seen many fitness influencers record workout videos inspired by music from the hit film, which crossed the $1 billion mark in less than three weeks.

The list of brands with their own activewear line is pretty much endless, and Savage x Fenty is finally ready to explore this growing industry. Rihanna’s lingerie brand joined forces with fashion designer Adam Selman to bring their very first sportswear partnership to life.

Savage x Fenty Sport is set to include everything from sports bras and leggings to jumpsuits and bodysuits. They strived to create a collection that can be worn in and outside of the gym, giving a nod to the brand’s visual identity through lingerie-inspired details and fun colors and prints.

With their first activewear line, Savage x Fenty wanted to push boundaries of how we define sport and sportswear, and Adam Selman proved to be the perfect partner in crime.

“We think of sport as how you move through your life. I want people to feel sexy, carefree, and powerful when they put these pieces on and Adam is the perfect designer to carry out that vision,” said Rihanna in a statement.

Since its launch in 2018, Savage x Fenty established itself as one of the leading size-inclusive brands on the market, and its activewear line will continue making strides toward body positivity. The collection will come in sizes from XS to 4X, and it will become available on November 9 on the brand’s official website.

Jane Fonda helped countless women stay in shape with her iconic VHS workouts, and she’s ready to revive her legacy. The iconic actress and activist joined forces with H&M to launch an amazing new campaign that encourages people of all ages to stay on the move.

The Swedish fashion brand launched H&M Move on August 4 and invited Fonda and choreographer JaQuel Knight to come on board and share their vision with the world. The main mission of this brand is “democratizing sports apparel” and providing stylish and functional movewear of incredible value for their customers.

The Hollywood legend said she was naturally drawn to the mission of H&M because she’s spent a lot of her own life getting people to move.

“I also really liked their philosophy of ‘movewear’ over ‘sportswear.’ To me, it’s not about sports or being the most athletic. It’s about giving your body the kind of movement it needs to stay healthy so it can take care of you,” said Fonda in a statement.

H&M Move introduced three brand-new materials called DryMove, ShapeMove, and SoftMove, and they’re promising they’ll keep you comfortable, supported, and extra light. The entire collection is available online and at 2,500 stores worldwide and it includes everything from leggings and sports bras to windbreakers and running shorts.

If we had to pick a single activewear trend that seems to be ruling the world right now, tennis-inspired collections would take the cake. Everyone from Fabletics to Lululemon seems to have one in store, and Girlfriend Collective is the latest brand to hop on this craze.

Tenniscore-inspired styles have been ruling the activewear world for quite some time and Girlfriend embraced this trend with their very first tennis-inspired line, called Rocket Collection.

“Our Racket Collection is a win for the planet, which means you can take a little pressure off perfecting your backhand swing. We designed a recycled courtside collection for racquet rookies and tennis pros, alike. High-performance pieces that serve looks – on and off the court,” reads Girlfriend’s press release.

This line of activewear puts a twist on some of the brand’s signature products with retro piping details and an 80s-inspired vibe. Match sets are the collection’s signature item, and they come in several essential and limited-edition colors.

This tennis-inspired line also features crop tops and skorts that can be bought separately, in addition to dresses, biker shorts, windbreakers, and such tennis essentials as socks, sweatbands, and visors. They’re available in sizes from XXS to 6XL and you can shop for them on Girlfriend Collective’s official website.
