Chris Hemsworth leaves us in awe every time he shares details about his workout routine, and his commitment to staying in shape is truly impressive. He recently discussed his approach to fitness in the cover story for the Australian edition of Men’s Health and shared a motivational trick that keeps him grounded.

The MCU superstar doesn’t believe you should commit to a certain routine just because it’s popular. It’s much more important to be an explorer in the world of fitness, and be on the lookout for fresh new activities that you enjoy doing.

“I speak to plenty of people who are like, ‘Oh, I just hate training’. I’m like, ‘What do you do?’ ‘Oh, I just run. But I just don’t like running’. I’m like, ‘Don’t run then!’ I don’t run. I do a lot of different things,” explained Hemsworth.

The Thor actor also admitted that he doesn’t enjoy taking a break from training for prolonged periods of time. Hemsworth doesn’t feel good when he stops working out because his “body shuts down”, and he often has to deal with aches, inflammation, and stiff back.

This doesn’t mean he can’t do without hardcore workouts that prepared him for the role of Thor. He simply wants to keep moving because it allows him to live healthier and happier.

Finding the motivation to work out every single day can be tricky, and even the best of us struggle with it. Zendaya is no different, but she came up with a creative way to motivate herself to stay active that includes one thing that she does best—playing different characters.

In a recent interview with Stephen Colbert, the Emmy-winning actress admitted that she struggled to stay active during the quarantine. After realizing that she needs to get outside more, she convinced her assistant to help her stay active and entrained herself by dressing up for each workout.

“Every day, because I missed acting so much… to inspire me to go downstairs and workout, I would wear different wigs, because I have a whole collection of wigs from all the red carpets that I’ve done,” explained the former Disney star.

This strategy did the trick for Zendaya, and you don’t have to be a professional actress to give it a try. Putting on your workout clothes is sometimes all it takes to get you in the mood for your next workout, so take the page from  Zendaya’s book, put on your “gym costume” and get ready to burn some major calories!

Lockdowns and quarantine gave many people a fresh perspective on working out and staying fit. One of those people just happens to be famous actress Jessica Alba, who finally realized she can work out without putting too much pressure on herself.

Alba discussed her new approach to working out in a recent cover story for Women’s Health. After her regular fitness routine was interrupted this year, she realized she doesn’t have to go all-in with each workout, and discovered more relaxing ways of staying in shape—such as walking, hiking, and reformer Pilates.

“I always thought, I need to sweat out my weight in water, I need to have muscle failure, I need to feel like I just ran a marathon—that’s how hard I needed to work out. I’ve learned to mix it up and not feel like a failure if I’m not, you know, killing myself,” explained Alba.

The Sin City star also took a moment to discuss her eating habits and her personal idea of moderation with Women’s Health. Alba said she tries to eat plant-based four days a week, but admitted that “all bets are off” on the weekends when she doesn’t watch her diet and enjoys indulging in her favorite comfort foods.

Ellie Goulding is one of the celebrities who’s always keeping it 100% real, and she’s equally grounded when it comes to her workout routine. The British singer recently posted an empowering gym selfie and shared her tips for staying motivated at home.

Goulding kicked off her post by defending muscular women and those who enjoy taking gym selfies, explaining that they can be a great motivation booster.

“Nothing I do in the gym is for vanity. To me, it isn’t intimidating or scary to be strong… When posting gym photos, I only ever wanted to show that with all the things I’ve overcome, keeping fit and strong has been my ultimate escape,” wrote the singer.

Lack of extraordinary athletic abilities didn’t stop Goulding from staying committed to her fitness routine. She’s fully aware of how difficult it is to stay motivated when you’re working out from home, but she believes that training can have a positive effect on mental health—even if it’s just a walk or a jog.

If you gained a couple of extra pounds in quarantine that you can’t get rid of, you’re not the only one. Supermodel Heidi Klum recently revealed she no longer fits into her favorite pair of jeans, but she’s not too desperate to get back in her pre-lockdown shape.

Klum discussed her quarantine transformation with Sunday Express and said she’s eaten a little more and exercised a little less than she normally does while stuck at home. Her favorite jeans no longer fit her, so she has to decide between stepping her fitness routine up, or simply getting a new pair.

The German model is fine with both of these options because she believes that having a healthy relationship with your body is more important than maintaining a certain weight.

“Don’t compare yourself to other people. If social media is making that hard, step away from it for a little bit. I also think that having a healthy relationship with food can help your self-esteem… If I’ve had a good meal I feel fueled and charged and I feel better about myself,” said Klum.
