Aloe arborescens: Candelebra Aloe Symbolic Meaning: Luck, protection, and grief. I found this plant in Matsusaka, Japan. Also known as the Kranz aloe, tree aloe (the english coming from the latin name arborescens), torch aloe, and even as the octopus plant, this species of aloe is a popular succulent species that can be easily grown both indoors and outdoors. When compared to its more popular relative aloe vera, the candelebra aloe presents distict differences such as flatter and longer leaves and a slight bluish tint. Candelebra aloes have showy flowers that attract all sorts of birds, bees, butterflies, and other insects, but require very little water to propogate (properties of succulents) which makes sense because it is native to African deserts. Aloe leaves in general have a bitter taste but prove to have benefits to health. In Japan, this plant is consumed as a vegetable that helps reduce constipation, and to move along the gastrointestinal system. Its health benefits have made it a significant Japanese health food that has been made into candies too. Magnesium

Having enough magnesium in your diet can help prevent your muscles from cramping. Try eating more nuts and seeds as these are excellent sources of magnesium.

Applying heat to a cramped muscle is a great way to relax the whole area. When muscles are warm they loosen and contract. Try putting a hot towel or a heating pad on it, or taking a soak in a hot bath.

Living a healthier lifestyle and working out don't have to be torture 😁 I have been down that road far too many times. This was my cycle: 1. Not happy with how I felt and looked 2. Did an aggressive 3-7 day cleanse 3. Didn't eat enough food to nourish my body 4. Ran on the treadmill until I couldn't go any longer 5. Avoiding things I enjoyed because it RUINED EVERYTHING 6. Hit some type of weight goal I had for myself 7. RINSE.WASH.REPEAT This was me for 6 years after I finished playing college football. I had some times where I looked pretty decent during that span but I was never healthy or happy with myself. It wasn't until 2017 when I made a major change. The change was actually not that drastic but it created the most drastic positive shift in my life. I decided to slowly live healthier, set realistic goals that can be achieved healthily, and appreciate the process. I know… Groundbreaking right!? I started to drink more water, not eat as much food, and make smarter choices. I saw an ad once that said one small choice effects the next one. After putting that to the test, I can tell you it is true. I have slowly grown to make better choices. Nothing happened overnight. In the gym, I actually started to work out less. I stopped torturing myself with hours of cardio. I started doing more things I enjoyed like heavier weightlifting, basketball, and being active outside the gym. I started to enjoy my workouts. Next is where the magic happened. I honestly don't know when but it happened. At some point, this became my lifestyle. That is something I had never experienced before with fitness. Even as a college athlete I always hated workouts. They finally became something I enjoyed. I started to enjoy eating healthier and working out for the first time in my life after years or torturing myself. All it took was to realize I had a problem and make a small mindset change. If you can relate to any of this, I BEG you to stop torturing yourself. Eating healthier & working out can be sustainable and enjoyable. Aloe arborescens: Candelebra Aloe Symbolic Meaning: Luck, protection, and grief. I found this plant in Matsusaka, Japan. Also known as the Kranz aloe, tree aloe (the english coming from the latin name arborescens), torch aloe, and even as the octopus plant, this species of aloe is a popular succulent species that can be easily grown both indoors and outdoors. When compared to its more popular relative aloe vera, the candelebra aloe presents distict differences such as flatter and longer leaves and a slight bluish tint. Candelebra aloes have showy flowers that attract all sorts of birds, bees, butterflies, and other insects, but require very little water to propogate (properties of succulents) which makes sense because it is native to African deserts. Aloe leaves in general have a bitter taste but prove to have benefits to health. Its health benefits have made it a significant Japanese health food that has been made into candies too. Magnesium

Living a healthier lifestyle and working out don't have to be torture 😁 I have been down that road far too many times. This was my cycle: 1. Not happy with how I felt and looked 2. Did an aggressive 3-7 day cleanse 3. Didn't eat enough food to nourish my body 4. Ran on the treadmill until I couldn't go any longer 5. Avoiding things I enjoyed because it RUINED EVERYTHING 6. Hit some type of weight goal I had for myself 7. RINSE.WASH.REPEAT This was me for 6 years after I finished playing college football. I had some times where I looked pretty decent during that span but I was never healthy or happy with myself. It wasn't until 2017 when I made a major change. The change was actually not that drastic but it created the most drastic positive shift in my life. I decided to slowly live healthier, set realistic goals that can be achieved healthily, and appreciate the process. I know… Groundbreaking right!? I started to drink more water, not eat as much food, and make smarter choices. I saw an ad once that said one small choice effects the next one. After putting that to the test, I can tell you it is true. I have slowly grown to make better choices. Nothing happened overnight. In the gym, I actually started to work out less. I stopped torturing myself with hours of cardio. I started doing more things I enjoyed like heavier weightlifting, basketball, and being active outside the gym. I started to enjoy my workouts. Next is where the magic happened. I honestly don't know when but it happened. At some point, this became my lifestyle. That is something I had never experienced before with fitness. Even as a college athlete I always hated workouts. They finally became something I enjoyed. I started to enjoy eating healthier and working out for the first time in my life after years or torturing myself. All it took was to realize I had a problem and make a small mindset change. If you can relate to any of this, I BEG you to stop torturing yourself. Eating healthier & working out can be sustainable and enjoyable.
