]]>Dewan recently discussed her approach to fitness, health, and pregnancy with People and she revealed that she fully embraced the 80/20 diet approach which promotes balance and moderation.
“I try to eat healthy, make good choices and do my green smoothies 80 percent of the time. And then I give myself 20 percent of the time to splurge and eat what I want to eat and have my nachos and French fries and enjoy a little bit, have a glass of wine,” explained Dewan.
The Step Up star also revealed that her fitness routine includes dancing, Pilates, strength training, and hiking. In addition to helping her stay in amazing shape, these exercises are great for her mental health because being too sedentary can affects her mind and emotional state in a negative way.

She gave a shout-out to her celebrity trainer Kim of Physical Perfection Pilates, and called Pilates the only workout “that heals your body at the same time as staying in shape.”
Her sweet caption was accompanied by several workout videos that look much more intense than expected. It doesn’t just include equipment-free and balance ball exercises, but several more complex movements that require sophisticated Pilates machines.

]]>The Step Up star talked about balancing motherhood and workouts in a recent interview with Parade and jokingly said she mostly exercises by chasing her 6-year-old daughter Everly around and helping her “save the mermaids.”
Dewan also said that the main focus of her workouts is to feel strong and confident, and she’s trying to teach her mini-me to have the same outlook on fitness and exercise.
“When you make it a part of your life and something you do to feel good and not make it about a body – I don’t talk about it being ’I want to lose weight’ or ’I want to feel anything.’ It’s more about feeling strong in the body. Hopefully she’s picking that up!” explained Dewan.
