Heck, it’s even pretty refreshing, especially when you’re working up a sweat around your fourth lap around the block. As long as the rainfall is light and the temperature isn’t too cold, you have nothing to worry about.
So when does the weather get too bad that you should pull yourself aside and not go out for a run? When the rainfall starts getting intense, and the temperature gets colder too, you definitely shouldn’t go for a jog. If you simply must get some exercise, buy yourself a treadmill or do some sit-ups. You might think that you’re missing out on a crucial workout, which will affect your health—but you’ll be hurting your health even more if you exercise outdoors when the weather is this bad. Not to mention that you could easily slip in a puddle and hurt yourself physically!

Once dogs are used to a certain routine, they make sure to remind you about it—so if you start a jogging routine with them, they might actually hold you more accountable than you think.
One of the biggest reasons that people stop exercising is simply because they’re bored. Some people just don’t find workouts to be mentally stimulating, which is why is kind be very beneficial to have external stimuli keeping you engaged. A dog can be a great version of this, especially on a refreshing jog where you both can enjoy the atmosphere together.

But once we get into a routine where we always listen to music, it can be sometimes easy to forget all of the other beautiful sounds that we’re missing out on. When jogging outdoors, especially in a natural environment such as a forest trail, there are so many wonderful sounds to hear and take in. Why not take advantage of that?
It may sound corny, but our opinion is that nature is its own form of music. The rhythm of the wind, the pulsing beat of a woodpecker pecking on a tree. Nature is full of sounds that are not only interesting to hear, but also incredibly therapeutic!
