That way the body uses oxygen more effectively, and the exercise gets easier over time. If you plan to add in a few higher intensity sessions, make sure there is a minimum of 48 hours between them.
Many sports, such as tennis or martial arts, require a combination of physical and technical skills. While more research is needed on the topic, it’s generally thought that consistent practice improves performance in this type of sport. But note that when we do the same type of training repeatedly overuse injuries can happen. Try to balance intense days, easier days, and recovery days evenly.
Generally, muscle strengthening exercises should be done on two or more days per week to improve muscle and bone health. Keep in mind, however, that lifting at your absolute maximum until you simply can’t go on—known as lifting to failure—doesn’t actually provide any additional benefits. Make sure you work on different muscle groups each session and listen to your body when it needs rest.

]]>Wipe down your yoga mat briefly after every practice with a cleaning wipe or a spray cleaner and a microfiber cloth. Make sure the surface is completely dry before rolling up your mat. Once a month or so, give your mat a deeper clean, by placing it in a basin, submerge it in warm, soapy water and give it a good scrub.
The way to clean free or standing weights is very similar to a yoga mat—spritz them with cleaning spray and wipe them dry. If you share them with someone, it’s essential that you do so after every practice.
When cleaning machines like treadmills, bikes, or ellipticals, focus on high touch spots. particularly handles, screens and seats. It’s best to do it after every workout, but once a week will also suffice. Double-check the machine is unplugged before you clean it.
The easiest way to clean resistance bands is by submerging them in a bucket of warm, soapy water, scrubbing them, and letting them air dry. Do so once a week, or whenever you feel they could use that deep clean.

Beginners should start with two to three workouts per week, while gym rats can go up to five times a week. Those two days of rest are very important for the body to recharge. Focus on cardio exercises, but combine them with weights and strength workouts as well.
If you want to gain muscle you should work out several times per week as well, but focus more on strength exercises. That does not mean you should neglect cardio completely. Stick to two cardio sessions per week and three with weights.
