3 Signs That Late Night Workouts Aren’t Doing You Any Favors

Like any other type of exercise, late night workouts have their pros and cons. They can improve your performance and help you blow off some steam at the end of a long day, but that’s not always the case. If you’re struggling with one of these three issues, it’s probably time to stop scheduling your workouts late at night.

Sleep Problems

Working out before bed can lead to better sleep, but it can also disrupt it. If you’re having trouble falling asleep or waking up in the middle of the night, keep in mind these problems may be caused by the intense workouts that you’re doing late at night.

No Consistency

It’s much easier to build consistency with morning workouts since it’s harder to bail on them. Scheduling your workouts late at night can be risky because you’ll be tempted to skip them after a long day and it’s difficult to stick to them in the long run.

Lack of Motivation

In addition to being too tired to hit the gym before bed, there’s also a chance you’ll lack the motivation to do it. You’ll be forced to work out on your own most of the time and you’ll struggle to find a workout buddy to keep you accountable.
