]]>The first thing you need to know about sports drinks is that they contain a lot of sugar. Even though they’re often considered healthy, the truth is that these beverages are packed with sugar. For that reason it’s best to avoid them if you’re trying to lose weight.
Athletes lose a lot of electrolytes through sweat during intense workouts, and drinking sports drinks right after workouts is a good way to replace them. These drinks also contain carbs that are important for boosting energy levels and rebuilding muscles after exercise.
Even though drinking sports drinks can be beneficial after long high-intensity workouts, people who are not professional athletes should avoid them because they contain lots of sugar.
Drinking water is by far the best and safest way to hydrate your body after a workout. As we’ve mentioned, sports drinks can be beneficial for athletes who exercise for more than one hour a day, but otherwise it’s best to reach for water first.

]]>The nutrients of chai tea depend on what goes into it. Black tea is full of antioxidants, amino acids, and vitamins A, K, and C. If it contains ginger, you can count on there being more vitamin C and several B vitamins. Cardamom comes with potassium, calcium, and magnesium, and there’s folate, calcium, and potassium that can be found in clove and cinnamon.
Adding milk and honey to chai tea gives you additional nutrients. There are many recipes for chai tea and one of our favorites comes from the Foodess website. “What I love so much about it is that the tea is actually brewed in milk and water in a saucepan on the stove—so it stays piping hot until ready to be drunk, rather than cooling down as it steeps in a teapot,” writes the author of the recipe.

This shouldn’t be confused with aloe vera gel, which is found in the plant’s thick leaves. The gel has been used for treating skin burns and other problems for centuries.
As Berman notes, the nutritious effects of aloe vera juice come from that of the aloe vera plant. ]]>“This qualitative assessment has shown that the health benefits (or null effects) clearly outweigh the risks of moderate coffee consumption in adult consumers for the majority of health outcomes considered. Results from this research may aid further qualitative and quantitative deterministic risk-benefit assessments of coffee consumption,” the study reads.
The study was conducted at Ulster University in the UK where the researchers reviewed over 1,200 previous studies all the way back to the 1970s. They found mixed results, but most of the findings pointed out that three or four cups of coffee per day don’t have bad effects on health. In fact, they offer some health benefits.
One thing the researchers pointed out is that they don’t have enough information to tell if this is true for all other caffeine, like tea and soda, or if it’s specifically true for coffee. But if you’re a coffee fan, you can continue to drink your favorite beverage without worrying!
