Longer workouts can sometimes be hard to power through, especially if you haven’t prepared your body properly to keep up with the prolonged strain. If you tend to feel your energy levels dropping after only half of your workout, here are some tips for keeping yourself energized the whole time. Remember to always listen to your body, though, and to rest if it’s telling you to rest.

Eat, Drink, and Replenish Properly

If you reach for sugary snacks when your blood sugar is low and coffee when you’re sleepy, that may be contributing to your low energy levels. Processed sugars will give you energy briefly and caffeine might wake you up, but they can’t stand in for actual energy-giving nutrients. Instead, try eating light meals before you work out that are high in whole grains and protein. Don’t forget to drink water throughout since hydration is important for energy as well, and you might benefit from replenishing your electrolytes with supplements or sports drinks too.

Ween Yourself Into It

If you’re going straight into a heavy-duty workout the first time you try, you’ll most likely get tired pretty fast. Instead, train your body to be awake and ready for a workout at a specific time of day by consistently working out at that time slot. Then, slowly increase the intensity as you develop more stamina.

Get Enough Sleep

Sometimes, the most obvious solution is the right one: if you’re tired, maybe you just need more sleep. Not getting enough sleep can affect your performance in every area and is crucial to health and wellness, so make sure you’re getting as much sleep as you actually need.

Napping can be a bit of a minefield. They can be positive and energizing, but sometimes you can wake up from a power nap feeling more tired and disoriented than before. Here are four things to bear in mind for the perfect power nap. Like everything in life, practice makes perfect!

Well Timed

It’s important that you take your nap at the right time. Midday and early afternoon can be good for energizing naps, but late afternoon can disrupt your nightly sleeping pattern.

Get Comfortable

Sleeping comfortably in a bed, couch or, at the desk improves the quality of sleep and also helps prevent injury such as neck cramps from sleeping awkwardly.

Drink a Coffee Just Before

A cup of coffee takes about 20 minutes for the caffeine to kick in. This means if you drink a quick cup before your 20-minute nap you can get some rest in and then wake up extra energized.

Nap When You’re Tired

For a nap to really have the best effect, it’s best to only nap when you’re feeling really tired. This will allow you to sleep quicker and will improve energy, memory, and mood.

It might sound a bit counterintuitive, but cold showers can be really great for your health and fitness. They can be a simple and effective way to boodt your energy and mood. Here are five advantages of cold showers.

Energizing

After taking a cold shower you’ll notice that your energy levels have raised significantly and you’ll feel quick, fresh, and productive.

Improves Mood

Since cold showers can be quite unpleasant it might sound strange to hear that they can improve your mood. But studies show that taking a cold shower stimulates the production of endorphins and helps you feel fresh and new.

Presses the Reset Button

People say that after taking a cold shower they feel as though someone has pressed the reset button. They feel good as new, refreshed as though they no longer carry the burden of the past on their shoulders.

“I’m lazy, I know I should do something, but I’m not really sure what, so I don’t do anything” This is what a new client said to me on our opening deep-dive call. 👂 To which my response was: “Babe, I don’t think you’re lazy, actually. I think what’s really going on is that you’re overwhelmed.”🙍 It’s a block I see in many (and believe me, I’ve been there, too!) – you’re afraid to make the wrong move, so you don’t make any move at all.😨 And, as you’ve heard me say before, change requires change, so that shiz is just not gonna fly!👊 👇Here’s what I want you to understand: 💡YOU DON’T NEED TO KNOW EVERY STEP ALONG THE WAY In fact, thinking you know all the steps can actually hinder your progress towards your goal. 😇YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO THIS ALONE Your intuition AND universal energy can work WITH you, if you’ll let them, to find the most easeful path. ♟YOU DON’T NEED TO BE READY FIRST Think of it like chess – sure, you wanna capture the queen in the end, but right now, it’s about moving your first pawn. What is one very small thing you can do today to move the needle forward?⬆ 💣My VIPs are smashing their goals because they get this, because they now understand that confidence is earned by taking action. 💥Feeling the need for expert guidance? Improves Blood Circulation

Cold showers can improve the circulation of the blood, promote heart health, and help prevent heart attacks and stroke. The cold water stimulates blood flow to the whole body, including the extremities.

Easy

The great thing about cold showers is that anyone can do them. As long as you have a shower at home or in your local gym, you can take a cold shower whenever you want to press that reset button.

One of the most crippling problems that prevent sports and fitness growth is low confidence or self-esteem. It can lower energy levels, make you feel small, and discourage you from going out to train. While everybody’s different, sometimes you just need to to do something that proves to yourself how strong and powerful you are. This can help you press the reset button and you’ll feel fresh in no time. Here are three ideas to get your confidence back.

Cold Water Swimming

A great way to press the reset button is to go out and go swimming in some cold water. This could be the sea, a river or lake, or even just a cold bath or shower. The cold water releases endorphins and gets you energized.

Skydiving

Skydiving is well known for helping people overcome their fears and become the people they want to be.

Paragliding

If skydiving seems too extreme for you and you’re looking for something a little more soothing to build your confidence, paragliding is a good choice. Sailing through the air with the birds and the wind through your hair is a wonderful way to blow the cobwebs away.
