After the “12-3-30” workout took TikTok by storm, this social media platform just gave us another treadmill workout that everyone seems to be raving about. Taylor Swift’s Treadmill Strut is all the rage on TikTok right now, but why are people going crazy about it and what is it all about?

We can count on all Taylor Swift-related things to go viral, but the Grammy-winning singer played no active role in starting this craze. TikTok user Allie Bennett is the one responsible for creating this high-energy treadmill routine, set to the beat of Swift’s biggest hits.

Bennett was very strategic when picking the songs included in this workout, and opted for 10 absolute bangers, including “The Man”, “Look What You Made Me Do”, and “Shake It Off”. The full workout playlist runs just under 37 minutes and it ends with a cooldown set to the beat of “Style”.

Bennet made quite a splash on TikTok by sharing treadmill workouts timed to songs by popular music artists including Swift. She believes her workouts are popular because they’re easy to follow and don’t put too much pressure on people to achieve a certain goal.

“It’s refreshing to be able to put something into that space that’s just about enjoying your workout, because I think fitness should just be about finding a form of movement you enjoy and look forward to, not about the way you look!” Bennett told Today.

Sumo squats, overhead punches with dumbbells, donkey kicks, and leg raises with ankle weights are some of the moves included in her intense routine.

When discussing her workout routine with Marie Claire in 2020, Gomez admitted she’s not a huge fan of working out. She still found a way to keep herself motivated by looking for workout videos on YouTube and doing everything from old-school workouts to more current ones.

TikTok led to the emergence of countless viral trends this year, even in the world of fitness. One of the latest is Lauren Giraldo’s “12-3-30” treadmill workout, and people are wondering how it works and if it’s effective.

You can perform this viral workout by changing the settings on your treadmill to incline: 12, speed: 3, and time: 30 minutes. Giraldo uploaded her original workout to YouTube back in 2019, but it only gain traction after a shorter video on TikTok recently received millions of views.

Giraldo discussed her viral workout with Today and said she came up with it by playing around with the treadmill settings at her gym. She admitted she struggled in the beginning, but the workout helped her feel less intimidated at the gym and she really started to enjoy it.

If you’re thinking of trying it yourself, keep in mind that working out this way for 30 minutes straight isn’t a realistic goal if you’re still a beginner. You can perform this viral workout by changing the settings on your treadmill to incline: 12, speed: 3, and time: 30 minutes. Giraldo uploaded her original workout to YouTube back in 2019, but it only gain traction after a shorter video on TikTok recently received millions of views.

Giraldo discussed her viral workout with Today and said she came up with it by playing around with the treadmill settings at her gym. She admitted she struggled in the beginning, but the workout helped her feel less intimidated at the gym and she really started to enjoy it.

If you’re thinking of trying it yourself, keep in mind that working out this way for 30 minutes straight isn’t a realistic goal if you’re still a beginner. Your incline should also be increased gradually, and you should take rest days in between because this workout can put a lot of stress on your lower back, feet, and knees due to its high-impact nature.
