]]>Reif came up with an amazing ab routine that you can do without investing in any expensive pieces of equipment. A water bottle is all you need, and it’s highly likely that you already have one at home, so why not put it to some good use?
Reif recommends embracing “the heavier, the better” mindset because your workout will be more intense if your water bottle weighs more. The water bottle will add extra resistance to your workout, forcing your muscles to grow stronger along the way.
Reif’s latest workout video introduced us to a great way to put a twist on our workouts, but it’s not the first time she recommended working out with a water bottle. You can find several more water bottle workouts on her channel, which you can use to target your arms, upper, and lower back.

]]>Washing your reusable bottle on a regular basis may not seem necessary since they only hold water, but you should actually do it every day. Germs thrive in moist environments, and not cleaning up your bottle on a daily basis will give them a chance to grow.
No matter what type of a water bottle you’re using, cleaning it every day is a must. You can clean yours inside a dishwasher, but if you’re scared it will be damaged in the process, washing it by hand is always the safest choice.
Rinsing your bottle with water isn’t enough, and make sure you’re using soap and hot water along the way. Pay extra close attention to nooks and crannies in the cap, and consider using a weak vinegar solution if you haven’t washed your bottle in a while.

]]>The easiest way to clean your water bottle is to throw it in the dishwasher. Just make sure it’s dishwasher safe as sometimes the lids aren’t.
Each day you should fill your bottle with warm soapy water and put the cap on before giving the bottle a good shake. Then, dump the water out and use a bottle scrub brush to get deep into the bottle. Rinse your bottle with warm water to remove any remaining suds and don’t forget to wash the lid and mouthpiece.
Fill your water bottle halfway with equal parts vinegar and water and then put the lid on and give your bottle a good shake. Let the bottle sit with the solution overnight and then rinse the bottle with warm water to get rid of the vinegar the next day.
For a thorough clean, using bleach is the best way to get rid of all the germs. Mix a teaspoon of bleach with a teaspoon of baking soda and then fill your bottle with water and the solution you made. Let the solution soak your bottle overnight and the next morning, rinse it with warm water.

]]>100% cotton workout clothes are eco-friendly and feel great against your skin. They absorb moisture and let your skin breathe without locking the heat close to your body. Other great options include bamboo and soy fabric.
This is one of the easiest changes to implement. A reusable water bottle doesn’t have to cost a fortune and it will keep you from buying a new single-use bottle whenever you work out. If you go with plastic, make sure it’s BPA-free. Also, don’t replace the bottle often just because you find a new one with prettier design, as each of them ends up on the landfill.
All the activity throughout the day counts, and if you want to make it more green, choose biking, walking, or riding a scooter to work instead of driving a car. It will help you burn some additional calories while reducing pollution – a clear win-win.
