20-Minute HIIT Workout For Small Spaces

Working out at home can be amazing, but if you don’t have much space it can also be a struggle. Not having enough time for a full-length workout is also a problem for many people, and in these situations, HIIT workouts are the perfect choice.

HIIT (high-intensity interval training) combines intense periods of exercise with short breaks and allows you to burn many calories quickly. It’s especially loved among people who’re trying to lose weight, but it’s also great for anyone who wants to fit in a quick workout in their busy schedule.

The 20-minute HIIT workout we’re sharing below was designed by ACE-certified personal trainer and fitness nutrition specialist Lyuda Bouzinova. “If you keep the intensity high throughout the workout, you’ll also get your body into a state of EPOC (excess post-exercise oxygen consumption), also known as the afterburn effect. That means you’ve revved up your metabolism and you’ll be burning calories long after the workout is over,” she told PopSugar.

Bouzinova suggests you do the workout before eating, as you will feel lighter. Since the workout is short, your muscles will do all the work on their own energy. Warm-up first then do three sets of each of these exercises:

  • Burpees: 8 reps
  • Tricep dips: 15 reps
  • Snap jumps: 8 reps
  • Leg raises: 15 reps
  • Lunge jumps: 8 reps each side
  • Sumo squat: 15 reps
