You’ve probably heard about fascia training by now. Someone might have talked about it in the gym, or you may have watched a social media video that mentions it. Ready to find out more about it? Continue reading.

What is Fascia Training?

Fascia is commonly used as a generic term to describe the connective tissues that surround every part of the human body. The term “fascia training,” on the other hand, is used to describe exercises and activities that aim to improve the function of muscular connective tissues in the body. This includes ligaments, tendons, and muscular envelopes among others.

How Does Fascia Training Work?

Fascia requires “stretching” in order to remain flexible and maintain its proper function. Otherwise, it tightens up and can lead to pain or movement restriction.

Fascia training is aimed at performing activities that serve the purpose of fascia stretching. This includes stretching exercises, foam roller massages, and bouncy movements like hopping and skipping performed in a gentle manner.

Should You Try Fascia Training?

While the benefits of fascia training are yet to be fully understood, there should be nothing stopping you from giving it a try. According to proponents of fascia training, it can help with the mobility and flexibility of the body, improve athletic performance, and relieve pain.

CrossFit is considered one of the most challenging fitness regimens out there. It relies on high-intensity exercises that are designed to push your muscles to their limits. Because of this, recovery is one of the most important aspects of CrossFit. In order to get the best results with CrossFit and avoid injuries, one must take care of one’s body and make sure it recovers enough between sessions. The tips below will help you do that.

Get Enough Sleep

Sleep is vital in the recovery of muscles and the body as a whole. During sleep, the body heals itself, releases growth hormones, and builds up energy. Making sure to get quality sleep is just as important as a fitness routine and nutrition.

Eat a Balanced Diet

Speaking about nutrition, having a balanced diet is important in any recovery, especially when involved in CrossFit. Eating a diet rich in protein, carbs, and healthy fats will provide your body with the nutrients needed to repair damaged muscles and tissues.

Adopt Recovery Tools and Therapies

Recovery tools like foam rollers, massage guns, and hot and cold therapy can go a long way in eliminating the downsides of intense CrossFit exercises. They will alleviate the tension in your muscles and improve blood circulation.

Keep Moving

Despite how tempting it will be to spend your rest days on the couch, make sure to keep moving. Do some light exercise, like walking or stretching, to keep your blood flowing and reduce soreness.

Experienced gym-goers know how to maximize their workouts while also keeping themselves safe from potential injuries. However, this can be a challenge for beginners who are learning to use gym equipment and are yet to discover the limits of their bodies. This is why we decided to share some useful tips that will help.

Always Warm Up Before the Workout

Warming up is key for a successful workout. It will make your muscles more flexible, improve the blood flow, lower the chance of injury, and help prevent muscle soreness. You can do this by stretching, walking on a treadmill, or doing some jumping jacks.

Start Slow

It is natural to get enthusiastic about the start of your gym journey and want to push your body hard. But this is one of the worst things you can do. If your body isn’t ready for the added strain, you’ll easily end up with a pulled muscle, stress fracture, or inflammation. Instead, start slow and increase intensity when you start feeling more confident.

Learn How to Use Gym Equipment

Gym-goers are getting hurt all the time due to incorrect use of gym equipment. Instead of “figuring it out,” do your research online and ask more experienced gym members to show you how to use gym equipment properly.

Don’t Ignore Your Body

Your body will tell you if something is wrong and you shouldn’t ignore it. If you start feeling pain or lightheaded, don’t try to work out through it. Instead, call it a day or switch to a less demanding exercise.

Rest Properly

Your muscles need time to rest after workouts in order to recover. Make sure to rest properly between gym sessions in order to make your workouts less challenging and more effective.

Hot yoga isn’t for everyone. However, it can be a great way to combine the benefits of yoga with added weight loss while also shaking up your regular yoga routine. Continue scrolling to check out some tips that will help you get the most out of your hot yoga sessions.

Start Hydrated and Stay Hydrated

Hot yoga will make you sweat a lot, causing your body to lose a lot of water. To avoid becoming dehydrated, you should drink a lot of water leading up to your hot yoga session and continue drinking water during it. This way you’ll minimize the negative impacts of sweating.

Prepare Extra Towels

You should equip yourself with extra towels ahead of the hot yoga session because you’ll need them. Wipe off the sweat frequently, especially off your face, because this will make the experience more bearable.

Dress Properly

Dressing properly is key to having a successful hot yoga session. You should wear comfortable clothes that don’t cover your body too much to allow it to breathe. Shorts and some variation of a crop top are your best bet.

Allow Your Body to Adapt to the Heat

Getting straight into a hot yoga session is one of the biggest mistakes you can make. You should sit back and relax in the heat for around 10 minutes before starting. This will allow your body to adapt to the heat and make your entire session easier to handle.

Learn to Take a Breather

It is essential to know when you’ve had enough and take a breather. As soon as you realize that your body is struggling or you feel lightheaded, give yourself a short break by sitting down or leaving the room.

Apple Watches can be a great way to improve your fitness routine. It helps you track your activity and workouts while also encouraging you to exercise more. However, in order to get the best results out of it, you should wear it around your ankle, according to TikTok fitness enthusiasts.

People wearing Apple Watches around their ankles during workouts is not a new thing. While some people do it because of medical issues or for practical purposes, others claim that it actually provides a more accurate reading.

A lot of times, the Apple Watch will pause tracking your workout if there is no clear hand movement or if the wristband gets loose. But placing it on your wrist apparently eliminates this problem.

“Everytime I have my Apple Watch on my wrist it always pauses and never records my full workout. Found out about the ankle thing and never went back,” fitness content creator @bodiedbyana explained in a recent video.

@bodiedbyana

Im so tired of putting my watch on my wrist and halfway through my workout realizing that it was on pause the whole time ?‍??‍? when i put it on my ankle it never happens welcome ? #gymtok #applewatchhacks

A lot of other TikTok users have adopted this unusual routine and never looked back.

For example, @zoehughley found it helpful to track her activity on the walking pad. Her hands rest on the keyboard while she works, and her steps would be missed otherwise.

Weight training, also known as strength training, is primarily viewed as a means towards achieving a bigger muscle mass or acquiring a better body shape. However, weight training also has plenty of other benefits like lowering the risk of injuries, improving the health of your heart, and boosting your mood and overall mental health. Weight training is a popular form of exercise considering it can be done at home or outdoors and comes at low or no cost. If you want to give it a go, here is how to get started.

Choose Your Equipment

Weight training exercises can be performed with equipment or by relying on your body weight in the case of push-ups, pull-ups, and lunges. The best way to start is by doing bodyweight exercises before gradually introducing basic exercise equipment like dumbbells and resistance bands.

Get Familiar With the Proper Form and Techniques

In order to make the most out of your weight training exercises, you need to get familiar with the proper form and techniques. A great way to do so is by watching free tutorials on YouTube or getting a few classes with a personal trainer who can introduce you to the basics.

Warm Up

Proper warm-up is essential for weight training. You can go for a light run or do some stretching to improve blood circulation and increase body flexibility.

Determine Your Goals and Work Towards Achieving Them

Finally, you should determine the goals you want to achieve with weight training, whether it’s weight loss, toned body, or muscle gain, and then work towards achieving them. Increase the intensity gradually and don’t get discouraged if you don’t see results right away.

Golf is generally considered a sport for old people and one that doesn’t require much physical effort. But the truth is that any age group can and should play golf and that you can get a good workout from a golf session. Playing golf actually comes with a number of health benefits, including ones that you probably didn’t know. Check them out below.

Playing Golf is Good for Your Heart

First and foremost, playing golf is good for your heart. During an average round of gold, you will need to walk several miles. This is a great exercise for your heart, keeping the heart rate up and improving blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

Playing Golf Burns Calories

You can think of golf as a low-effort workout. You will hardly ever keep still while also carrying the bag with you all the time and making powerful swings. All of this provides a great environment for burning calories.

Playing Golf Provides Stress Relief

Golf is a great activity for stress relief. Walking, swinging, and tinkering your next shot will take your mind off of things while the competitive side of the sport provides the entertainment.

Playing Golf Provides Vitamin D Boost

Vitamin D is extremely important for our health and the best way to get it is by being exposed to the sunlight. Being an exclusively outdoor sport, golf ensures you soak in plenty of sunlight and get your daily dose of Vitamin D. Just remember to wear sunscreen.
