How to Find Time for Exercise When You Have a Long Commute

Finding enough time to squeeze in a workout is hard as it is, but things tend to get even more difficult when you spend a significant amount of time traveling to work. Here’s what you can do to stay active if the long commute is giving you trouble.

Good Scheduling

Pick a time when you’re going to work out every day, and stick to it. It will be harder to bail out once your gym sessions become a daily ritual you can’t live without.

Gym Location

Finding a gym near your office will give you more flexibility. You can head to work early and hit the gym before going to the office or squeeze in a workout once you’re done with your job. Also consider getting a membership at a gym chain that has a separate branch near your home.

Constant Activity

Hitting the gym isn’t the only way to stay active. Make sure to spend a part of your commute walking or even biking if possible. Get off one stop early or park far away from your workplace if you’re traveling by car.
