Staying active can be pretty difficult once fall and winter arrive, but that shouldn’t stop you from trying. These seasons bring many activities our way that will keep you busy outdoors, and some of them can even double down as an amazing workout.

Apple Picking

Apple picking may seem easy at first, but it’s actually pretty physically demanding. You’ll have to cover a large area while walking from one tree to another, in addition to kneeling, bending, or even climbing up the tree to pick the apples. This is a lot of work, and you’ll probably be more tired than from a regular workout afterward.

Themed Runs

Many fun-themed runs, such as a turkey trot run, take place in the fall. They’re not as grueling as marathons and usually come with a realistically achievable distance, such as a 5K or shorter. You don’t have to be an avid runner to take part in them, and walking the route is also an option.

Gardening Tasks

You won’t even need the gym this fall if you have a large backyard, because gardening tasks will keep you busy. From raking leaves and cleaning up your yard to mowing your lawn and planting new veggies and flowers, gardening can do wonders for both your mental and physical health.
