How to Overcome Your Fitness Fears

In case you’d like to be more physically active and start working out regularly, but some kind of fear is holding you back, don’t worry. Stepping out of your comfort zone and taking that first step can be scary, but the benefits for your mental and physical health are plentiful. Here are some of the most common fitness fears and how to overcome them.

Not Accomplishing Your Goals

After a few unsuccessful attempts to commit to exercise, it’s only normal to feel the fear of not accomplishing your fitness goals one more time. Try to change your approach this time—choose shorter workouts, break down your goals into smaller steps, and don’t push yourself too hard.

Not Knowing Where to Start

If it’s been years since you last exercised and you don’t know where to start now, don’t worry. Find something that seems fun,\ because that way you’ll be likely to commit to it. You can also bring a friend if you think that having company will motivate you to start.

Getting Hurt

Every time we hit the gym or go outside for a run, there’s a risk of exercise-related injuries. But this shouldn’t stop you from exercising. In order to prevent injuries and feel safer while working out, make sure to stretch and to find a good fitness trainer at the gym.
