You Will Need

  • two avocados
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

How to Make Them

  1. First, turn on the oven and preheat to 375 F. Also, prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper. 
  2. Place the flour in one bowl, an egg in another bowl, and breadcrumbs in a third bowl. Beat the egg and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Peel and slice the avocado. Coat each slice with flour, egg, and breadcrumbs in that order. Arrange on the baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil.

8,900 people in the U.S. – that’s 24 every day – end up in the emergency room because they wanted to eat some delicious avocado, according to an analysis done by Insider. Most of them are women between the ages of 20 and 40 and the injuries typically happen to their hands as they were cutting the avocados.

We know that millennials love avocados, but we definitely didn’t know that so many people end up hurting themselves trying to make a delicious meal! The analysis reported to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission’s national injury database and made a calculation based on the number of hospitals included in the national database. “Nearly all of those visits were due to lacerations and injuries to hands and fingers, caused while cutting avocados — although there was at least one instance of someone slipping off of a stool while picking avocados as well,” Insider writes.

What can you do to avoid becoming a part of this painful statistic? Definitely avoid using a knife to remove the pit from an avocado and do it with a spoon instead!

Are you carving something sweet, but you still want to stick to your meal plan? No worries. This dark chocolate avocado mousse is the perfect healthy yet decadent dessert for you.

Ingredients

  • 2 small ripe avocados
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup dark chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • ½ cup milk

Preparation

  1. The first step is to cut the avocados in half and remove the seeds. Scoop the meat from shells and place them into a blender or food processor.
  2. Place the chocolate chips into a microwave friendly container and heat it for 30 seconds. Repeat the process until the chocolate becomes smooth. Don’t forget to stir between.
  3. When melted, add the chocolate and the rest of the ingredients to the blender and mix it until it becomes smooth.

8,900 people in the U.S. – that’s 24 every day – end up in the emergency room because they wanted to eat some delicious avocado, according to an analysis done by Insider. Most of them are women between the ages of 20 and 40 and the injuries typically happen to their hands as they were cutting the avocados.

We know that millennials love avocados, but we definitely didn’t know that so many people end up hurting themselves trying to make a delicious meal! The analysis reported to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission’s national injury database and made a calculation based on the number of hospitals included in the national database. “Nearly all of those visits were due to lacerations and injuries to hands and fingers, caused while cutting avocados — although there was at least one instance of someone slipping off of a stool while picking avocados as well,” Insider writes.

What can you do to avoid becoming a part of this painful statistic? Definitely avoid using a knife to remove the pit from an avocado and do it with a spoon instead!

Rich in omega-3 fatty acids, nuts are great for your body. However, they are a pretty caloric foods, so if you are watching your diet, make sure you don’t eat more than a full fist of nuts.

Are you carving something sweet, but you still want to stick to your meal plan? No worries. This dark chocolate avocado mousse is the perfect healthy yet decadent dessert for you.

Ingredients

  • 2 small ripe avocados
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup dark chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • ½ cup milk

Preparation

  1. The first step is to cut the avocados in half and remove the seeds. Scoop the meat from shells and place them into a blender or food processor.
  2. Place the chocolate chips into a microwave friendly container and heat it for 30 seconds. Repeat the process until the chocolate becomes smooth. Don’t forget to stir between.
  3. When melted, add the chocolate and the rest of the ingredients to the blender and mix it until it becomes smooth.
  4. Divide it into four servings and leave it into the fridge for at least one hour.
