Now that you’ve picked a date and are starting shopping for your wedding dress, you may want to start getting in shape for your big day. While we’re sure you already look fabulous, starting a workout plan can help you feel even more amazing on your wedding day. Instead of overtraining and starving yourself right before your wedding, start exercising at least six months before. Here’s how to get in shape for your wedding.

Start Small

This is one of the reasons you should start working out at least six months before your wedding. It will take time for your body to get used to working out and you don’t want to overdo it. Start small with a 10-minute full-body workout and work your way up to an hour-long session.

Mix Cardio and Strength Training

Don’t only focus on cardio like HIIT, Pilates, running, and spinning. Make sure you have some strength training to tone up your arms and back, so you’ll look muscular on your big day.

Target Your Core

Incorporate exercises like squats and lunges to strengthen your legs and core exercises to sculpt your waist. You’ll get that hourglass figure in no time!

Eat Healthily

Working out is only a small part of what will get you fit—diet is about 80% of it. Load up on whole foods and cut out processed ones. Start eating more lean protein and healthy fats, which will also boost your workouts.
