It’s one thing to decide that you’re going to join a gym, and this is obviously something to be proud of. But it’s not enough to just join a gym. You have to settle on a routine that works for you, because consistency is the key to your workout success. Try Everything Out
Instead of making sweeping declarations that you’re going to use the elliptical for three months straight, pump your brakes for a second. The important thing is to find something that you enjoy doing, so what you really want to do is try everything out. Go through all of the different workout stations in the gym, and see what you connect to.
Don’t Overthink It
While we did just say it’s important to find something you enjoy, it’s also good not to overthink things. If you analyze each workout too much, you’ll find yourself unable to find the “perfect” workout that you enjoy like crazy, because ultimately they all require hard work. None of these workouts will be sunshine and rainbows, and will require you to push things to the limit. The question you want to answer is, which of these workouts can you envision yourself loving the grind?
