It can be tough to stay hydrated in the winter. That’s because when it’s cold outside, a big glass of cold water just isn’t very appealing. Plus, when we’re not feeling hot and thirsty, it can be hard to remember we need to drink!

However, with the dry air from indoor heating and prevalence of coughs and colds in winter, it’s super important to get enough water to maintain optimal health. Here are our top tips for keeping hydrated in the colder months. Drink up!

Drink Hot Drinks

If you don’t fancy cold drinks, try hot ones instead. Herbal tea, hot water with lemon, or savory broths are all great hydrators and will keep you feeling cozy. Just don’t rely solely on black tea and coffee for your liquid intake or you might face a caffeine overload!

Carry Your Water Bottle

Even in winter, carry your water bottle with you at all times to encourage yourself to drink throughout the day. You won’t want to schlep a full, heavy bottle around all day, which means it’s great motivation to drink up and lighten your load!

Set Alarms

If you are getting to the end of the day and realizing you haven’t been drinking, it’s time to set some alarms. Set alarms on your phone every couple of hours with notes reminding you to drink. Keep these on for a few weeks until drinking water regularly becomes embedded into your routine.
