Congratulations, you’ve decided to join a gym. Just making that commitment alone is actually a lot to be proud of, and now all you have to do is decide which one you should sign up for. So which gym is right for you? It’s not always easy to know for sure, but here’s a pretty basic guide of things to consider when making this bold choice.
Amenities and Services
The first and most important thing you’ll want to know is what kind of amenities and services a gym provides. Do they have a swimming pool? Do they have a basketball court? A shower? There’s no point in going to a gym if they don’t have the things that you specifically like doing.
Location
Location is also a pretty darn important thing to consider. If a gym is five minutes away from your home, you’re a lot more likely to go consistently than if it’s 20 minutes away.
Price
And last but not least, we have the price. Here’s where it gets a little tricky. Ultimately, you want to get your money’s worth—but this doesn’t always mean paying for the cheaper option. You’ll get the most bang for your buck the more you actually use the gym—and the previous two points we made can contribute to that. If that means paying a little bit more, it might actually be a better deal if the alternative is not going at all.
