Fitness trends are about as popular as ever, from eating right to adopting stellar workout techniques. This means that countless people have become somewhat experts in the field of training themselves and training others for that matter. However, it can sometimes be hard to know which people are truly expert trainers, and which ones are putting on a show without real knowledge. So how are you supposed to know if a trainer is legitimate? Here are some ways to check.

Cross-Reference

One of the best ways to check if a trainer can truly get the job done is get references. Ask the trainer for the contact info of other people they’ve trained, and get in touch with them. Even a five-minute phone convo with one of their former clients can be all you need to reassure you that this trainer is for you.

Free Trial

Even better than cross-referencing is asking the trainer for a free trial. Not every trainer offers one, but if you’re able to convince them to grant it, it can give you all the info you need to proceed with your decision. Think of it as taking a sample slice of what they have to offer with no risk. You have nothing to lose, and if the trainer delivers, then you can comfortably give them your money afterward.
