At the age of 45, TODAY morning show host Sheinelle Jones is proof that age isn’t a factor when it comes to getting into the form of your life. As she trains for her first-ever full marathon, Sheinelle has revealed exactly how she is preparing to tackle this momentous challenge.

When You Don’t Have Time, Make Time

Sheinelle explained that while she doesn’t have long to go until her marathon, she made sure to allocate enough time each day to physical fitness, making sure to immerse herself entirely in her regimen during each session. “When I go out for a run and when I’m training, that’s me time,” Sheinelle explained.

Swimming And Cross-Training

While running is of course key to marathon training, Sheinelle has also found swimming in cold water to be highly beneficial as a holistic workout. “I read all about the benefits of cold plunging. I don’t know if it really works, but I think it does. I’m not as sore as I thought I would be,” she revealed.

If you’d like to give it a try, all you need is a skipping rope and some simple guidelines.

The skipping rope workout we’re sharing with you below was recently posted on Instagram by actress and fitness enthusiast Halle Berry. “No better time than now to take a mini self-care break for this week’s #FitnessFriday,” the actress wrote. She introduced her friend Raquel Horsford, who’s also an actor and the owner of RockYourBest. “Today, she will be walking you through one of the easiest ways you can re-focus your energy, even for a few minutes, to your body – jumping rope,” Berry wrote.

If you’d like to try the workout, here’s what you need to do:

  • 60 sec jumps, 30 sec jacks, 30 sec rest
  • 60 sec high knee jumps, 60 sec knee taps, 30 sec rest
  • 60 sec jumps, 30 sec lateral jumps, 30 sec rest
  • 60 sec alternating single leg jumps, 30 sec alternating knee drives into plank jumps, 30 sec rest.

Actress Reese Witherspoon recently shared some 10-year-old footage that shows her practicing circus stunts for the movie Water for Elephants. Back in the day, she worked for nearly six months with various trainers to get ready for the role of Marlena in the movie. The video below shows her practicing the moves and building strength with exercises like pull-ups and rope climbs.

“Going through my computer, I found this an old email that linked to footage from my training days on the film #WaterForElephants. WOW! It took me back to 2010, when I got to work with some extremely talented circus trainers for my role as Marlena. Preparing for this film with @aloysiagavre and all the trainers at @cirqueschool was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” Witherspoon wrote along the video. 

She noted that she had no idea how hard it would be when she first started, but she gave it all she had and found the challenge captivating. She admitted that the stunt work she did for the movie pushed her farther than she’d ever gone as an actor but she loved every bit of it.

The legendary Angela Bassett is 60! Yes, you read that right – 60. This iconic actress looks so good that you could easily mistake her for a 20-year-old lady. The most interesting thing is that she’s been very open about her diet and fitness secrets and all the tips she has regarding looking so fly.

Angela shared with W Magazine what her diet looks like in a week:

“Monday, Tuesday, I may eat carbs, fruit; Tuesday, Wednesday, protein, veggies—veggies every day—no fats those four days, and then the last three days, I flood it with fat. Good fat, though: maybe coconut oil, salmon, almonds, almond butter, you know, olive oil, that sort of thing. I don’t do any dairy, all right? I don’t do any bread flour. I’ll do Ezekiel bread, which is sprouted.”

When it comes to a fitness routine, Angela Bassett does workout with a personal trainer. Corey Calliet is the pro who helped the actress prepare for her role in Black Panther. He would spend an hour with the star, helping her look as good as she does.

“I like to set up circuits. You do each movement for 30 seconds, then you take a break, get the heart rate down to get it right back up. The reason why I like doing it so much is because it’s the fastest and the most effective way to burn fat.”- Calliet told People.

Cuoco fell in love with hot yoga and never skips training. “Doing yoga five times a week has transformed my body. I love being toned and having muscle; it’s so sexy and beautiful. And I owe it 100% to yoga,” Cuoco told Shape magazine. When she visits the gym, she usually focuses on arms and abs.

And what about her diet? In 2016, Cuoco told Women’s Health that she doesn’t eat meat, but eats fish. Her go-to foods include vegetables and peanut butter. Her typical day consists of a peanut butter toast in the morning, half a sandwich for lunch, and fish and vegetables for dinner.

Actress Reese Witherspoon recently shared some 10-year-old footage that shows her practicing circus stunts for the movie Water for Elephants. Back in the day, she worked for nearly six months with various trainers to get ready for the role of Marlena in the movie. The video below shows her practicing the moves and building strength with exercises like pull-ups and rope climbs.

“Going through my computer, I found this an old email that linked to footage from my training days on the film #WaterForElephants. WOW! It took me back to 2010, when I got to work with some extremely talented circus trainers for my role as Marlena. Preparing for this film with @aloysiagavre and all the trainers at @cirqueschool was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience,” Witherspoon wrote along the video. 

She noted that she had no idea how hard it would be when she first started, but she gave it all she had and found the challenge captivating. She admitted that the stunt work she did for the movie pushed her farther than she’d ever gone as an actor but she loved every bit of it.

How amazing would it be to be able to do all the stunts the beautiful actress did in the movie?

The legendary Angela Bassett is 60! Yes, you read that right – 60. This iconic actress looks so good that you could easily mistake her for a 20-year-old lady. The most interesting thing is that she’s been very open about her diet and fitness secrets and all the tips she has regarding looking so fly.

Angela shared with W Magazine what her diet looks like in a week:

“Monday, Tuesday, I may eat carbs, fruit; Tuesday, Wednesday, protein, veggies—veggies every day—no fats those four days, and then the last three days, I flood it with fat. Good fat, though: maybe coconut oil, salmon, almonds, almond butter, you know, olive oil, that sort of thing. I don’t do any dairy, all right? I don’t do any bread flour. I’ll do Ezekiel bread, which is sprouted.”

When it comes to a fitness routine, Angela Bassett does workout with a personal trainer. Corey Calliet is the pro who helped the actress prepare for her role in Black Panther. He would spend an hour with the star, helping her look as good as she does.

“I like to set up circuits. You do each movement for 30 seconds, then you take a break, get the heart rate down to get it right back up. The reason why I like doing it so much is because it’s the fastest and the most effective way to burn fat.”- Calliet told People.

Cuoco fell in love with hot yoga and never skips training. “Doing yoga five times a week has transformed my body. I love being toned and having muscle; it’s so sexy and beautiful. And I owe it 100% to yoga,” Cuoco told Shape magazine. When she visits the gym, she usually focuses on arms and abs.

And what about her diet? In 2016, Cuoco told Women’s Health that she doesn’t eat meat, but eats fish. Her go-to foods include vegetables and peanut butter. Her typical day consists of a peanut butter toast in the morning, half a sandwich for lunch, and fish and vegetables for dinner.
