Our favorite fitness influencer Kayla Itsines became a new mom two months ago, but she’s already back at the gym. Her flawless postpartum body sparked heated debate on Instagram and there’s a lot we can learn from her journey.

It Takes Time

Itsines couldn’t wait to go back to her fitness routine after giving birth, but it still took her some time to feel the same as she did before giving birth.

“I’ll be honest, my first session, I was very emotional. I felt SO weak and so uncoordinated (very off balance). I was tired. BUT I was determined, motivated and excited to FEEL strong and confident in my abilities again,” the fitness guru captioned one of her photo on Instagram.

Everyone’s Different

Some of Itsines’ followers weren’t impressed by her quick recovery, but she repeatedly made it clear you shouldn’t compare yourself to others since everyone has a different journey.

“Every woman’s journey through life but especially pregnancy, birth and healing post-birth is unique. While each journey has a common thread that connects us as women, our personal experience, our relationship with ourselves and our body will always be our own.”

Celebrating Your Body

The famous fitness blogger admitted she had a hard time sharing her post-baby photos online, but did it in the hopes that she’ll encourage other women to celebrate their bodies.

“For me, regardless of how my body healed post-birth, I felt it was really important for me personally to embrace, appreciate and celebrate my body the same way that I tell all the women in this community to celebrate their body.”
