Fall is often considered as the best possible time for mountain biking, as long as you approach it with caution. Here are three things you should take into consideration before embarking on a mountain biking adventure this fall.

Trail Conditions

Certain routes that you’ve been avoiding all summer long because they’re dry and dusty are rideable again in the fall, but persecutions should be taken. Autumn rains can actually do biking trails some good, but give them a day or two to dry out so they wouldn’t be too slippery.

Packing Properly

Waterproof windbreakers layered with other clothes are a must when it comes to mountain biking adventures in the fall. It’s also important to pack everything else you need in your backpack because weather can be pretty unpredictable and you never know if you’ll need an extra pair of socks or helmet cap.

Extra Caution

Some things you wouldn’t even be thinking about in spring and summer are worth considering when it comes to fall rides. It’s important to head out early because you’ll run out of daylight pretty fast. You should also make sure that the lights on your handlebar and hamlet are working in case you have to illuminate your path.
