Fall is generally seen as a spring and summer activity, but that shouldn’t stop you from playing it in the fall. Pleasant weather and picturesque scenery can make your fall tennis sessions extra-enjoyable, but there are a few steps worth taking to properly prepare for playing tennis this season.
Weather Conditions
Never head to the tennis court before checking the weather forecast, and leave your session for another day if it’s going to rain. Also, don’t start your sessions before checking the condition of the court to make sure it’s not too wet or slippery.
Always Warm Up
Speaking of keeping yourself warm, doing a warm-up before playing tennis is also a must. You should spend some time stretching and doing light exercises before hitting the court no matter what the season, but this is even more important once colder days arrive since your muscles will take longer to properly warm up.
Dress Up Properly
Even if you’ve checked the forecast, fall weather can be pretty unpredictable so it’s important to come prepared. Lightweight, moisture-wicking fabrics are always a good choice for tennis sessions, but you should layer up once fall arrives and bring a light jacket or hoodie to keep yourself warm if necessary.
