Before joining a new fitness class it’s important to understand the norms and protocols to ensure a safe and effective workout. We’ve got you covered on what to avoid and be aware of in your new Pilates class.

Don’t Move Too Fast

Pilates has its own tempo; the exercise can be slower of faster than the one before. Rushing through moves is most likely to result in an injury.

Don’t Wear the Wrong Outfit

It’s very important to choose the proper workout gear. Belts, buckles or zippers can be extremely uncomfortable during your workout. Also, don’t wear loose fitting clothes; they reveal too much when you do the exercises and they can get into your way.

Don’t Check Your Phone

Let us be honest, we are all addicted to our phones, but stop checking your cell during the class. You will lose focus, and won’t pay attention to your instructor. Instead, keep your phone in your locker or your bag.

Don’t Make Weird Noises

There are plenty of athletes that make noises during their match or workout. And it can be annoying, right? If you are one of those noise-makers, for the sake of maintaining focus, try keeping it under control.
