Kate Beckinsale is approaching her 50s, but that’s not stopping her from being in the greatest shape of her life. Her trainer Gunnar Peterson told Women’s Health she owes it all to these five fast-paced, total-body exercises.

Bodyweight Squat

Squats are one of the basic moves everyone’s familiar with, and Beckinsale’s trainer recommends doing 15 reps, with 30 seconds of rest between sets.

Twisting Shoulder Press

This exercise is amazing for your arms, especially if you hold a set of dumbbells as you rotate your torso and lift your arms.

Superman

This basic core exercise requires you to lay down, lift your arms and legs off the floor, and hold for a few seconds before returning to the ground and repeating the exercise.

Pushup with Shoulder Tap

This exercise is done the same way as the regular pushup and the only difference is that you have to top one of your shoulders with the opposite hand once you’re in the top position.

Bicycle Crunches

Kate Beckinsale can’t imagine a workout without this exercise, and she does several sets during each session, ranging from 30 to 50 reps.
