Hollywood stars usually have to follow rigorous fitness regimen in order to stay fit, and Blake Lively knows this best. The Gossip Girl actress put a lot of effort into getting back in good shape after giving birth so she could accept physically demanding roles that were coming her way. She wouldn’t be able to do it without her personal trainer Don Saladino, who shared some of the secrets of her success.

Healthy snacks

Lively’s trainer believes everyone should consume protein, healthy fats and some veggies one hour before the workout because they help with brain function.

Balanced schedule

You don’t have to hit the gym every day in order to stay in amazing shape, according to Saladino. If your body doesn’t have time to recover from your grueling exercise regimen, training three times a week is more than enough.

Dynamic warm-up

Lively’s workouts are focused on performance and physique and usually start with breathing and foam rolling, followed by a dynamic warm-up.

Listening to your body

Saladino isn’t one of those personal trainers who is trying to push 100 percent all the time and believes they should be avoided. He thinks each client should listen to their body, and gauge the intensity of their workout to how they’re feeling that day.
