Ashley Park Explains How Her Fitness Routine Changed After She Gave Up Cardio

Many fitness aficionados swear by cardio workouts, but Ashley Park is no longer one of them. Emily in Paris star dished about her workout routine in a recent cover story for Women’s Health and explained she went through a major shift after giving up cardio.

Park mostly used to focus on cardio before the pandemic, but she turned things around in recent years and Pilates became her go-to workout routine.

“Now, for me, working out is not about losing weight; it’s not about burning calories. Instead, I feel a difference when I am stronger and more muscled. It changes the trajectory of my mental state because I’ve taken care of myself in some way,” she told Women’s Health.

Park heavily relies on personal training sessions because she believes they’re a great way to keep yourself accountable, training with Sarah Brooks when she’s in New York City and Brandon Perry when she’s in Los Angeles.

Even though her workout routine went through a major overhaul, Park still enjoys running, but she hasn’t been doing it much since spraining her ankle earlier this year. This injury made her realize how important it is not to put too much pressure on your body and give it enough time to heal.
