Benefits of Box Jumps

Box jumps, as the name says, is an exercise where you jump on a box. Start by standing facing the box, then in a smooth motion, jump from the floor to the top of the box, landing both feet at the same time. However, it isn’t as easy as it looks like. To become a box jumping expert you have to start with a low box to get accustomed to the movement. Then, later on when you gain enough confidence and strength you can move to higher boxes.

Apparently, this girl CAN still jump. Made it onto a 30-inch box yesterday for the first time in 6-7 years! The last time I tried, I didn’t make it and fell flat on my back. Ever since, I’ve been too scared to even attempt it. I was perfectly happy doing 24-inch jumps for the rest of my life. . Yesterday, my coach at @bellastrength — not knowing my history and fear with the 30-incher, only knowing my capabilities — told me to do them like it was no big deal. So, I did. . Here’s what I didn’t do (which I had done in the past): . 💪🏻Make an excuse. 💪🏻Let my fear decide. 💪🏻Overthink everything what could go wrong. 💪🏻Tell myself I’m not strong, powerful, or fit enough. . Instead, I just stepped up and did it without another thought. As an over-thinker and worry wart, I’m so proud of myself for getting over my fear. . Now, the talk: When it comes to your wellness, health, body, etc., I think this logic also applies. Every time I talk to a lady about her health, she’s scared of something. Fear is leading us all and trapping us from moving forward in our lives. What if you could just stop overthinking from that place of fear, stop creating excuses, stop letting your decisions come from a place of fear, and instead take the leap with love, joy, and confidence?! End talk. BTW if you want to see the most hilarious videos of me NOT making the jump, watch my story! . #confidence #allinthemindset #mindsetmatters #positivevibesonly #boxjumps #youcandoit #nofear #happiness #selflove #selfacceptance #mindfulness #bodypositive #holistichealth #masteryourmind #takecareofyourself #movementoftheday #workoutoftheday #girlsthatliftheavy

Box jumps are a phenomenal exercise which target all of the muscle groups of your lover body; the glutes, hamstrings, quadriceps, and calves, they all work together to enhance power and strength. It’s actually a full-body exercise because to do it correctly you need strong engagement of the core and a swinging motion of the arms, as well.

With box jump you will become stronger, faster, and more powerful. This exercise also helps you to work on vertical jump. When doing a box jump, you are jumping as high as you can and landing your feet onto an elevated surface. While doing this, your knees and hips are already slightly bent which reduces the impact to your bones and joints.
