One of the biggest obstacles stopping us from reaching our fitness goals is the constant fear of failure. Negative past experiences can make you pessimistic about the prospect of working out, but you can still achieve great results and avoid failure if you’re doing these three things right.
Right Approach
Fear of failure is pretty much impossible to avoid when you set unachievable goals for yourself. You should be realistic with your fitness plans and primarily focus on feeling good and staying active instead of trying to lose a certain amount of pounds or completely change your body type.
Right Activity
The physical activities you choose to engage in will determine how motivated you are for each workout session. Fear of failure will be more persistent if you opt for a fitness routine that you don’t enjoy and you’ll always be one step away from giving it up.
Right Environment
The people you surround yourself with during your gym session can also be the cause of your fear. It’s natural to be afraid of failure if you surround yourself with people whose fitness level doesn’t match yours. Find a workout group that suits your fitness level, or consider working out at home or with a single workout buddy if group classes don’t do it for you.
