Have you ever opened your Instagram and felt completely worthless after scrolling through pictures of flawless fitness bloggers who look nothing like you? Yep, it happened to the best of us. It’s comforting to know that even the most attractive women online aren’t perfect and they’re proud to share their flaws.

It’s no secret beauty standards for women are out of control and reaching them seems like an impossible task. Social media is filled with pictures of beautiful bloggers who always look amazing, but some of them were ready to shed light on reality.

Instagram vs real life 💁🏼🌿 If I saw the photo on the left a year ago I would've instantly thought so negatively about my body, that all my hard work from working out was non existent, that if someone looked at me they would've never thought I've been working out for 2 years and think I wasn't trying hard enough. But the thing is is that all bodies look different. Nobody's booty looks round and peachy from all angles. Nobody's body looks the same from all angles. Don't eat less or miss out on your favorite meals/drinks or over exercise to "look good for a holiday" or to "look good in bikini photos" because there will always be angles that are "unflattering" that might make you feel bad when you see them. Instead workout and eat healthy because it makes you feel good, not as a punishment. Start loving and accepting your body at all angles with all your "flaws", instead of trying to fit into societies image of 'beauty' because that image isn't inclusive of all individuals, which is so messed up. Don't hate yourself just because of bad photos, they do not define you as a person. You look the best when you're living life to the fullest and happiest. There's no point in missing out on things and stressing yourself out so much. Life isn't meant to be a competition on who can look the best and we should normalize not having to "look perfect" all the time because it's a ridiculous concept. You are perfect the way you are 🌴☀️ —————————————— . . . #instagramvsreallife #beforeandafter #lawofattraction #bodypositive #bekindtoyourself #lifeisgreat #dowhatyoulove #veganbooty #youareenough #progressnotperfection #bodyimage #vegansofig #girlswhoworkout #selflove #youarebeautiful #veganfitness #loa #fitnessjourney #bopo #bodyacceptance #bodyconfidence #effyourbeautystandards #bepresent #justbe #moderation #balanceddiet #staypositive #thinkpositive

Looking impeccable has nothing to do with starving and working out to the point of exhaustion. It’s all about having proper lighting and striking the right pose. Dozens of #bodygoals role models posted “relaxed vs. posed” photos, revealing the work that goes into taking a perfect pic.

Lighting. Is. Everything. 99% of pictures you see on social media are taken in the best possible lighting and that ain't no accident 💁 so when I got into the elevator with the lighting on the right, I zoned in on the cellulite on the back of my arms. Yes, cellulite on your arms is a thing! I've had it since the beginning of my journey and while it's lightened up since then, it's still not totally gone… because I'm human. Seriously, girls, stop thinking you're the only one with cellulite and that it's some kind of disease! Yes, it absolutely can be reduced through healthy diet, exercise and proper water intake, but another component which you can't control is genetics, and just being human. It's not bad to want to reduce the sight of cellulite just like it's not bad to want to lose weight and feel more confident overall, but don't set out to lose weight JUST to have less cellulite. It can be a cherry on top of all the other amazing benefits. If you ask me how to reduce the appearance of cellulite, my answer will be: healthy diet, regular exercise and proper water intake – that's it. I will not suggest creams or wraps or whatever else the current fad is because those are only short term fixes (IF that..) and perpetuate the idea that health/results can be found in a bottle/package. So, do I love the look of my arms on the right? No, but I don't hate it or myself for it, either. And you shouldn't either ❤️ #fbggirls #realtalk #cellulite #realstagram www.annavictoria.com/guides

Comparing side-by-side shots taken few seconds apart is a reality check we all desperately needed. It comes to show fitness bloggers invested hours of carefully-constructed, well-thought-out preparation into each of their photos. Use them as inspiration, but don’t go too hard on yourself if you’re not a carbon copy of these gorgeous ladies. They stand as reminders that you should work out and eat healthy to feel good in your own body, not to punish yourself because it’s not perfect.
