Fuel Up Before a Morning Workout With These Overnight Oats

Eating a nutritious breakfast before a morning workout session is extremely important, but finding time to eat breakfast before a morning workout, let alone a healthy one, is difficult. These overnight oats are ready in five minutes and you can make them the night before. They’ll stay fresh for up to five days in your fridge.

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup muesli or 1/3 cup old-fashioned oats + 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter or peanut butter
  • 1/2-2/3 cup milk (based on the consistency you want)
  • 1/2 cup fruit
  • drizzle of maple syrup or honey

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl or jar, combine the muesli or old-fashioned oats and cinnamon with chia seeds and nut butter.
  2. Add a splash of milk and mix the ingredients together. Add the rest of the milk and mix.
  3. Top with fruit and if you’re using fruit that doesn’t store well, like sliced bananas or apples, wait to top it until you’re ready to serve.
  4. Place the lid on the jar and refrigerate overnight or up to five days. Add a drizzle of maple syrup or honey before you serve.
