After a long and hard day of work, you’re gearing up and getting ready for bed. For some people, however, this is actually the perfect time to give one last push and work out. But considering the fact that we’re about to power our bodies down, some workouts are better than others during this particular time. Here are the best exercises to engage in before you go to sleep.

Planking

It’s usually best not to work yourself too hard before you get ready for bed. You’ve already gone extremely hard throughout the entire day, and therefore something as simple as a plank is a great option. It’ll improve your core, help your breathing, and it won’t raise your heart rate too much before you prepare to sleep.

Child’s Pose

This is a common yoga pose that’ll provide an amazing stress release for your lower back and hips. This is especially great if you tend to sit on a chair all day, like if you work at an office. You’ll fall asleep like a baby.

Sports

If you simply must do a high-energy exercise before going to sleep, a great option is playing sports. Play basketball with some friends at the gym, and you’ll feel great when you get home. You’ll also feel super exhausted, and you’ll pass out instantly.
