Get Enough Sleep

Getting a good night’s sleep is important, especially when you are working out regularly. Sleep repairs your muscles, gives you energy to workout, and balances hormones related to hunger and fullness. You should be getting between 7 to 9 hours of sleep each night.

Stay Hydrated

It’s important to make sure you are staying hydrated throughout the day, if you aren’t then you may feel sluggish and tired. When you’re tired, it’s easier to reach for unhealthy, fatty foods. Be sure to carry a water bottle with you, no matter where you are going.

Change Takes Time

Trying to change all your bad habits at the same time, will make you want the things you are trying to avoid more. For example, if you drink soda all the time, completely stopping drinking soda, won’t work. Instead, try limiting your soda intake to once a day and when you have mastered that you can try drinking soda only on the weekends.

Eat Proteins

You may be overeating because you are not consuming enough protein; protein will keep you feel full longer. It’s easy to add more protein to your diet; start in the morning by having eggs with your toast for breakfast.

Schedule Your Snacks

Scheduling a mid-afternoon snack will keep you from eating everything in sight after you get home from a long workday. Hummus and carrots or nuts make a great snack that will keep you feeling full longer.
