Halle Bailey’s son Halo will soon celebrate his first birthday, and everything around her changed after he came into her life, including her fitness routine. The Little Mermaid star recently opened up about her approach to working out and revealed she made a switch to weight training after giving birth.
Halle Bailey and her sister Chlöe recently sat down with Women’s Health to discuss their approach to fitness. Working out is an important part of their self-care routine, and both sisters agree it’s crucial for both their physical and mental health.
Halle admitted that her approach to fitness changed after she gave birth to her son Halo last December. She made a switch from cardio to slower weight training in an attempt to build muscle, and that’s one of the reasons why her diet mostly consists of protein and veggies.
“I’ve never really done this before – I always did a lot of cardio or tried to lose [weight], but now I’m in this phase of my life where I’m embracing some of the meat that has stuck since I gave birth. I’m trying to keep some of it,” she told Women’s Health.
The Little Mermaid actress also revealed that she only has enough time for three to four workouts per week since becoming a mom, and added that her son loves joining her at the gym and playing on the yoga mats.
