Almond
Milk
You don’t need us to tell you that the whole world is going crazy for this non-diary milk right now. Turns out they’re doing it for a good reason, since this one happens to have the highest level of calcium of all the similar milks on the market!

Growing up, I was taught that milk is a “perfect food” since it’s a source of protein, fat, and carbohydrates. My healthy breakfast during high school? Carnation Instant Breakfast stirred into a 16 ounce glass of skim milk. It’s no wonder that I still love having chocolate “milkshakes” for breakfast! ? (And to this day I wonder if my daily milk habit contributed to my horrible high school acne.) ? • It wasn’t until I was 22 years old and started dating Austin (who was basically a vegan when we graduated from college) that I even considered drinking less than two HUGE GLASSES of milk each day. When I stopped drinking cow’s milk, I also realized how much BETTER I felt without it! • The hardest part about quitting milk for me was that the store-bought alternatives, like almond milk or soy milk, were either full or sugar or tasted just plain awful to me during the transition. HOMEMADE almond milk, however, is a totally different story! ? • In this video you can see how QUICK & EASY it is to make your own almond milk at home. Just blend almonds and water, then strain it! It tastes 100% better than the store bought stuff, and you can use the leftover almond pulp to make hummus or brownies, too. #winwin • The great thing about making your own almond milk at home is that YOU are in charge of the flavors. If you like a little sweetness, blend in some dates or maple syrup! You can even blend in a little cocoa powder for a delicious chocolate “milk." • Get my full almond milk tutorial by clicking on my profile link ? @detoxinista • • https://detoxinista.com/how-to-make-homemade-almond-milk/ • #almondmilk #dairyfree #veganrecipe #veganmilk #howtomake #dairyfreerecipes #dairyfreekids #acnetips #homemadealmondmilk #rawalmondmilk #paleorecipes #paleorecipe #veganrecipevideos #veganrecipeshare #feedfeedvegan #detoxinista #foodvideos #foodvideo

Coconut
Milk
This alternative has that amazing creamy structure of your favorite cow milk, but it’s a much healthier option. Coconut milk is rich in saturated fat, which is easy for your digestive system to break down and use.
