The global pandemic completely changed the way we approach fitness and made home workouts the new normal, but that’s slowly changing. Gyms are open again, and if you don’t feel like going back because you lack the confidence you once had, here’s how you can get it back.

Don’t Compare Yourself to Others

Comparing yourself to others is one of the worst things you can do in fitness. We all have different body types and genetic predispositions, in addition to being on completely different fitness journeys. You should be focusing on your own, just like everyone else.

Do Something Familiar

Don’t pressure yourself into immediately trying new things and taking your workout routine to a whole new level. You’ll feel much better if you go back to a routine that feels familiar, realize you can still do it, and make your future plans from there.

Come Prepared

If you’re feeling anxious to go back to the gym because it seems like a completely unfamiliar place, there are ways to prepare yourself. If you’re attending the same class that you went to before taking a break, try doing some of the moves at home and you’ll feel much more confident after that.
