When we’re on vacation we tend to go with the mindset that we’re also vacationing from our healthy lifestyles. But while a vacation may last a week or two, getting back into the mindset of eating healthy and working out after you get back can be really difficult. You’re better off sticking to your health and fitness goals while you’re traveling and here’s how to do so.

Eat Regularly

When you vacation, it’s common to skip meals and snack instead, which can lead to overeating, an upset stomach, and a lack of energy. Don’t go longer than three to four hours without eating and make sure to have healthy, portable snacks.

Hydrate

Day to day, we have to remind ourselves to stay hydrated and on vacation, it’s even more difficult to remember. Make sure you have a water bottle with you at all times and drink often. Dehydration can lead to headaches, sluggishness, and discomfort.

Get Active

Take advantage of hiking trails, running routes, walking tours, and pools in the cities you’re visiting. Focus on activities you enjoy because after all, this is a vacation.

Rest

Don’t be afraid to have some rest and relaxation. Make the most out of being able to sleep in and get some beach time in.
