There is a lot of activity that happens around the holidays. Family meals, social gatherings, and work parties seem to litter the calendar, and it can be a lot if you’re more on the introverted end. Everyone is somewhere on the introvert-extrovert spectrum, but even the most ardent extroverts can find themselves feeling overwhelmed at this time of the year. If you notice that your social battery is running out, here are three ways to recharge.

Set Boundaries

Yes, it would be nice to be at every event, but it is also okay not to be. Showing up for everything can be draining, so prioritize the ones that you will feel present for (mentally, as well as physically).

Make Time for You

Going from one social activity to another can be exhausting, so make sure to schedule some time for yourself to breathe between events. Do something to recharge during this time, like taking a walk, meditating, reading, or exercising. Don’t just go scrolling through TikTok as that can actually leave you drained.

Prioritize Your People

Being around people with whom we cannot be authentic can drain your battery even quicker. If you find that is happening with certain individuals or groups of people, try limiting your time around them.
