Serena Williams delivered a number of signature on-court looks during her career. Many of them stood as a symbol of female empowerment and rebellion, and so does her new collection created in collaboration with Nike and Off-White.
The signature piece of this collection is a graphic cape-jacket. It features French translations of the words mother, champion, queen and goddess printed across its surface, in honor of the tennis tournament Roland-Garros.
Serena Williams and Virgil Abloh previously worked together on her performance wear for the U.S. Open, and this new collaboration brought out the best in both.
“I love when fashion becomes a vehicle for sharing a powerful message. With Nike and Virgil, we’ve created pieces that aim to inspire a new generation of athletes everywhere,” said legendary tennis player in an official statement.
Cape-jacket is the most impressive piece of this Nike x Off-White capsule collection, but Virgil Abloh also designed a limited-edition T-shirt and hat.
