Whether or not you should join a gym is a question that’s probably been asked a million times over. People from all walks of life who aspire to exercise and get more shape constantly deal with this dilemma because it’s truly a great one. On the one hand, a gym provides everything you need to when it comes to working out. On the other hand, you don’t technically need everything that’s there. There’s a lot you can accomplish working out at home—but here’s what you really need to think about.

Where You’ll Get The Most Work Done

This is really the most important thing to consider when deciding if you should join a gym or not. Sure, the gym has everything you need, but will you be too lazy to drive there? Are you going to be distracted by the “scene”? On the flip side, you can work out at home, but will you feel less motivated in the environment where you also happen to relax, watch Netflix, and eat junk food?

It really depends on the type of person you are, and where you get your energy from. You might be the kind of person that thrives working out at home and wouldn’t enjoy exercising in public. On the other hand, you might actually get energy from being in a place where everyone else is working out, as opposed to being at home. The only way to know for sure is to try both options out, and see what creates the best results!
