Burnout comes in so many forms. It could be in the form of mental fatigue, lack of motivation, overuse injuries and physical fatigue. Burnout isn’t just an unwillingness to work out; it is a feeling that kills the motivation to exercise. Here and some signs of burnout and solutions:
Procrastination
You may keep saying you’ll make it to the gym and even dress up for the occasion, but end up preoccupying yourself with matters that are not urgent. To fix this feeling, keep it simple. You do not need to burden yourself with an intense workout at this point. Simply set smaller goals such as walking around the block, doing stretches, or going up and down the stairs.
Exhaustion
Fatigue, both mental and physical, are signs of burnout. You may want to stay in bed all day until someone forces you to stand up. The solution to this feeling is rest. You do not need to work out every single day. Take a day or two off to recover.
Irritability
When you overtrain or overwork, you may begin to lash out on others subconsciously. You can fix this by doing something that makes you feel good. Treat yourself to a hot bath, go to a spa, soak your feet or take a nap.
Not feeling it
Exercise is fun, but this isn’t always the case especially if you’ve not been exercising for a long time. When the love dies, try something fresh. Don’t just continue with your old routine.
