When winter hits, everyone starts talking about vitamin C. That’s because vitamin C is the MVP when it comes to keeping colds at bay. Although the vitamin may not prevent you from catching a seasonal bug, it does have the ability to reduce the severity and length of your cold.

Oranges are thought of as the poster children for vitamin C, but there are actually other fruits and veggies that boast much more. Here is what you should be stocking up on this season.

Kiwi

Kiwis are powerful little fruit. Sweet and a little tart, adding two of them to your diet will give you 128 milligrams of vitamin C. Kiwis also contain serotonin which is the mood-stabilizing hormone that aids with sleep.

Brussels Sprouts

We may have disliked Brussels sprouts as a kid, but now they’re one of our favorite veggies, which is great news because there are 75 milligrams of vitamin C in a cup of these babies!

Cauliflower

Cauliflower is an excellent low-carb replacement for many veggies. Plus, a head of cauliflower has 283.4 milligrams of vitamin C which is even more of a reason to turn it into rice, mash, or roast it in the oven.
