Things No One Told You About Working Out

When talking about fitness, most people tend to focus on the best workouts, healthy nutrition, and all the benefits that come with regular exercise. This can be pretty confusing for a beginner, so we’ve rounded up a short list of things that probably no one has told you about exercising.

Skipping a Workout is Okay

Setting unrealistic fitness goals is the most common beginner mistake and the main reason why people give up on exercise. Skipping a workout or two is not the end of the world, so don’t beat yourself up because of this.

You Don’t Need a Gym to Succeed

If there’s one thing we’ve learned this year it’s that we can get a killer workout without leaving the comfort of our home. Yes, working out at home regularly takes a lot of dedication, but there are lots of great YouTube videos that’ll help you stay fit while having fun.

You Might Gain Weight

Most beginners tend to give up after a month of working out if they don’t see any results, or even worse, if they’ve gained some weight. What most of them don’t know is that gaining a few pounds is actually totally normal because after a few weeks of exercise you’ll lose fat, but you might gain muscle. That’s why it’s better to measure body fat than your weight.

Your Laundry Basket Will Be Full

Make sure to stock up on quality fitness gear because you’ll need clean clothes every time you hit the gym. If you’re working out more than two times a week, this means your laundry will be full almost all the time.
